Members with the Capstone class had the privilege of touring downtown Port-au-Prince from the back of United Nation vehicles, escorted by MINUSTAH Soldiers on May 19. Capstone is a joint service military education six-week course at Fort Lesley J. McNair, Washington, for newly promoted brigadier generals and rear admirals, as well as civilian workers with the Department of Defense. Two weeks of the course are spent touring around military areas of operation. This group spent their two weeks traveling throughout Latin America. The party was able to visit the U.S. Embassy, tour JTF-Haiti headquarters and take an aerial tour of Port-au-Prince. The group continued their travels to the Dominican Republic the following day.
